Who we are:
Shawn Conway began his career working in construction for a national home builder. He will never forget unloading truckloads of cabinets in the snow, or climbing in and out of dumpsters to pack down sopping wet rolls of carpet. He later pivoted his career and transitioned into a business development position at an energy and facilities-focused engineering and consulting firm.
After some luck and a lot of hard work, Shawn eventually made his way into the world of private equity where he’s spent the last nine years sourcing, evaluating, and investing in companies across a number of industries. He learned how to analyze a business, develop a growth plan, and unlock value. Over the years, Shawn has met with hundreds of entrepreneurs from all over the country. Each conversation was different, but one thing always remained the same. He knew he wanted to be an entrepreneur.
Shawn attended Penn State University and Saint Joseph’s University where he studied business, communications, health services, and Spanish.
In his spare time, you can find Shawn walking his puppy with his wife Alex, woodworking in his garage, or on the golf course sipping a beverage.
Why work with us?
Shawn comes from humble beginnings and has had to earn everything he’s achieved so far in his career. No, he doesn't have an MBA from a fancy school. Instead, he bought a book called “The Personal MBA” by Josh Kaufman for $13.99. He prefers work boots over loafers. Shawn has built a powerful personal network of business buyers, sellers, advisors, and consultants. If he is not the right partner for your business, he would be happy to connect you with the right people. Shawn works with integrity, respect, and loyalty. And at times humor.
Shawn has never been an operator and does not have all the answers. He does not presume to know your industry better than you do. It’s just the opposite. Shawn knows he has a lot to learn and he views the business owners he works with as mentors, not just someone sitting across from him at the negotiating table. He values teams and believes happy employees produce happy customers.
